Loudoun County, VA – Congressman Jamie Raskin announced his endorsement of former Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn in the Democratic Primary for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. Raskin, a respected leader in Congress known for his commitment to progressive values and protecting democracy, praised Filler-Corn’s track record of leadership and dedication to the people of Virginia.

“Eileen Filler-Corn was the first woman Speaker of the House in Virginia history and an amazing leader for change, and I know how much she loves your fair Commonwealth. She was also my law student, so I know how much she loves the Constitution too,” said Rep. Raskin. “She’s passionate about our freedom. She led the fight to roll back right-wing abortion restrictions, expand voting rights, and protect our environment. I was proud to have Eileen as my student and will be even prouder to have her as a colleague in the House of Representatives.”

Rep. Raskin represents Maryland’s 8th congressional district and served as the lead manager of the impeachment trial of Donald Trump and a member of the January 6th Committee.

Filler-Corn, who served as Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2020 to 2021, expressed gratitude for Rep. Raskin’s endorsement. “I am honored to have the support of Congressman Jamie Raskin, a longtime friend and champion for justice and equality,” said Filler-Corn. “His leadership in Congress has been a constant source of inspiration, and I deeply admire and respect his commitment to defending our democracy, building a better future, and making progressive change. I am excited to work alongside him to tackle the pressing issues facing our communities.”

The endorsement from Rep. Raskin adds to Filler-Corn’s growing list of supporters, including former Governor Ralph Northam and former Attorney General Mark Herring, highlighting her strong momentum in the race for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. With a proven record of effective leadership and a commitment to democratic values, Filler-Corn is well-positioned to represent the interests of Virginians in Congress.
