Loudoun County, VA – Ralph Northam, the former Governor, and Mark Herring, the former Attorney General, have endorsed former Speaker of the House Eileen Filler-Corn in her race for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.
“Thanks to Eileen-Filler Corn’s leadership as Speaker, we were able to pass common-sense gun violence prevention laws that are already saving lives in Virginia,” said Ralph Northam. “We as a Commonwealth, and a nation, cannot stop here. I know Eileen will fight to pass long-overdue legislation in Congress to keep communities in CD10 safer from gun violence.”
Ralph Northam, a pediatric neurologist, served as the 73rd Governor of Virginia from 2018 – 2022. Previously, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 2014-2018 and as an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
“Eileen Filler-Corn is a trailblazer and an unstoppable force for progress in Virginia,” said Mark Herring. “From her first years in the House of Delegates to her tenure as Speaker, she was a key partner in tackling the most pressing issues facing communities throughout the 10th District and across Virginia. Thanks to her leadership, Virginia took action to expand justice, equality, and opportunity for all. We need Eileen’s skills and values representing us in Congress.”
Mark Herring served as Attorney General of Virginia from 2014 – 2022. From 2006-2013 Herring represented Loudoun and Fairfax Counties in the Virginia Senate.
“The residents of CD10, and all Virginians, have greater access to healthcare, quality public education, reproductive liberties, increased protections from gun violence, and much more because of Governor Northam’s transformational leadership,” Filler-Corn said. “I am honored to have Governor Northam’s support and I look forward to expanding our progress on these issues and more for the 10th Congressional District.”
“Mark Herring has been a leader on fighting to expand healthcare access, protecting seniors from fraud, reducing gun violence, combatting sexual violence on college campuses, and more,” said Eileen Filler-Corn. “I can always count on Mark Herring to stand up and fight for what is right, and I am honored to have his support as we fight to keep CD10 blue and restore Democratic leadership in Congress.”
